Antarctica treaty

The Antarctic treaty is an agreement that was signed in 1959 by 12 countries. Some of them are New Zealand, Japan, Chile and Australia. There are researchers and scientists that live there to protect and keep the place safe.

Kelly tarltons

On Monday it was a beautiful day for our trip to Kelly Tarltons. Team 4 meet in the hall to get ready to hop on the bus. Miss Garden said the karakia to keep us safe and happy during the day. “Yes” I said to myself as we lined up to walk to the bus, “we are finally going.” during the drive to Kelly Tarltons the people were shouting and screaming on the bus. Rooms 13 and 16 went into the classroom. There was a lady waiting for us, her name was Janice. She told us lots of things about Antarctica, the penguins and Scott Base. I learnt that when the Gentoo penguin feathers start to come off it takes 2 weeks to grow back. They don’t eat or go swimming while this happens. Scott Base was painted green to remind them of the grass in New Zealand. Promise and Rebecca dressed up in clothes that they use in Antarctica. Promise was wearing big baggy brown pants and shirt, a balaclava, deerskin gloves and boots, Janice gave him some snowshoes to hold on to. They looked like tennis rackets. As room 13 and 16 walked to the park the sun was shining brightly. We ran towards the adventurous playground. The tall wet grass squished under our shoes making them wet.everyone had some morning tea. lots of people ran to the flying fox mr sommerville zoomed along the wire and hit the tyres at the end. it felt like we were in heaven as we soared into the sky swinging on the swings.all the children were screaming with excitement. suddenly it was time to go back to kelly tarltons.

We read a Story about a Maze. a maze is made of plans and stone. and some mazes a made of wood People carry flags because they can get lost. When there lost they put up the so the lifeguard can see them. mazes can stay up for hedges of years.

BJ and Toby went to town to tow a big red van. The van was blocking a driveway and a mixer truck wanted to get through. Then a police woman said to them “can you move the van please.” BJ walked over to toby and got a chain to pull the van out of the way. “We need to hurry” said BJ, “the mixer truck has been waiting too long.” Finally the pulled the van out of the way. The driver of the mixer truck said “Thank You.

Football with Ben

“Line up in the corridor for football” said Miss Lavakula. I was so excited that we had football today. When we got to the hall our coach Ben was waiting for us. “Stand on the red line” he told us, “we’re going to play octopus. There were three taggers for the first game. It was lots of fun playing octopus. we played it twice. Ben blew his whistle and we all stopped to listen. Ben instructed us to get into pairs. he said “we are now going to play football octopus”.

The object of this game was 1 person had to use their dribbling skills to get the ball to the other side of the the hall. Their partner had to try and steal the ball from them. My partner was Shelford. I kept getting past him with the ball. Miss Takerei came over and asked if I could give Shelford a turn with the ball, she said “it’s because you are too good.” I gave Shelford a turn and we had lots of fun. The last activity we did was to play a game of soccer. There were 3 teams. I was in the red team. We were playing against the blue team. All of the teams didn’t get a goal. Sadly it was time to go back to class.

this story is about kids making mask for the mask parade in town.that day the kids were making mask. all of them had to make gold bold and bouncy. then mr glue told them to shhhh said mr glue. we are the top secret mask maker. so thay went to the parade and the winner is the lions.
